CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR)

One Good Deed Creates Another

In 2006, an American traveler, Blake Mycoskie, befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One.

Inspired by the good example set by Tom’s Shoes, we created the the “Alphabet Kids Buy One-Give One Literacy Program." For each book sold, one book will be donated to a child in need. Committed to social responsibility, Kassin and Samara have also engaged in many community-based educational and charitable activities, including donating school supplies and visiting classes at Edward Hynes Charter School in New Orleans; Producing an Alphabet Kids concert to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and recently taking part in World Read Aloud Day in a cross-cultural videoconference linking children in NYC with students from Ghana that was held at the HueMan Bookstore.

The Alphabet Kids Many Faces Many Places tour is making stops across the country in 2011. We will be visiting schools, hospitals, community centers, faith-based organizations and bookstores. To invite us to your community, please email info@alphabetkids.com.
